Fright Fest After a short drive, you be at a FRIGHT FEST… literally. Fiesta Texas hosts fright fest every October and you wont regret attending. Enjoy rollercoasters all night but be careful of the creature lurking behind you!
Mala Luna Buy your tickets for Oct 28th. San Antonio hosts a night under a bad moon. But it’s far from a bad night, enjoy artists from Russ, YG, Megan The Stallion, even DABABY!
Pumpkin Patch If scary isn’t your thing, grab a pumpkin spice latte and head to the nearest pumpkin patch. Snap some cute pictures and pick up a pumpkin for your patio.
Whether you’re new to the area or simply looking for more to do, Texas State University is the place for you. With close to 40,000 students, the activities to do on campus are endless.
Take a dip at Sewell Park. The San Marcos River flows right through campus and it’s the best spot to go hangout between classes. Staying at a constant 72 degrees Fahrenheit all year round, the river is a nice place to cool off or warm up during the winter season.
Rock climb at the Rec. The Texas State Recreation Center has so much to offer for students, ranging from yoga classes to rock climbing when you first enter the doors. Don’t worry if you’re a beginner, the instructors will walk you through every step of the way!
Tailgate with your fellow bobcats. Rain or Shine, students and parents always find a way to come out and support the Texas State Football team. Show your support for the Bobcats by sporting maroon and gold!
Join an organization. Having such a large student body means having the ability to create over 300 organizations in order to fit everyone’s personality.
Grab a bite to eat. With such a big campus, the dining options are endless! There’s Chick-fil-A, Panda Express, Starbucks and many more. Take a walk around campus and find what spot fits you best.
Look at all the art. Texas State University welcomes all artists. In the Alkek Library is home of the Wittliff Collections
Aug 2nd Enjoy the First Fridays at Three Dudes Winery with some live music over looking the San Marcos. No Cover, come cool off with one of their frozen cool Dudes or a glass of wine.
Aug 3rd San Marcos Farmer’s Market p provides an outlet for Central Texas Farmers to market their crops. Enjoy a Saturday on the San Marcos square.
Aug 4th Spend the day Downtown. Come enjoy a curated artisan market at the Courthouse Square, live music, art performances, a community market and the San Marcos Farmers Market. Walkabout Downtown and explore a variety of pubs, eateries and retail shops all of which are running specials all day!
Aug 7th Camp Comedy is a weekly open mic night at Buzz Mill every Wednesday. The sign up for the show is at 7:30pm. The show will start at 8:00pm on the frontier patio. Every month we will feature a resident comedian who will also be given an extended set. Each comedian is chosen based on performances at open mic.
Aug 10th San Mercado is a monthly community market held every 2nd Saturday in Downtown at the Price Center from 9:00am-4:00pm.
